This week’s cool weather has been a boon for those who love outdoors activities.

Two clear, calm and cool evenings in a row offered a chance to explore a pair of lakes at the Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Fish and Wildlife Area near Chandlerville.

The calm waters almost perfectly mirrored the scene above.

Jim Edgar Panther Creek is about 40 minutes west, northwest of Springfield.

The site features three man-made lakes, several fishing ponds, campgrounds and plenty of equestrian and mountain biking trails.

If you weren’t able to get out, take a timelapse tour of Drake Lake in the video, or simply enjoy the pictures.
